Job summary

ChristianaCare’s Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute seeks a Medical Director of Bone Marrow Transplant to lead the BMT program, provide clinical oversight, and drive standardization of care across settings.

The role partners with medical and administrative leaders to meet performance goals, recruit and retain staff, and advance quality initiatives within an academic environment in Delaware.

Qualifications

• Experience leading high-performing clinicians and collaborating with administrative leaders.
• Board Certified in Hematology & Medical Oncology.
• Licensed to practice in Delaware and Maryland with credentialing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to physicians and clinical staff for Bone Marrow Transplant.
• Oversee Bone Marrow Transplant clinical services, discusses and resolves administrative problems and directs planning and improvement of the clinical services.
• Oversee all staff in Bone Marrow Transplant.
• Act as a primary resource to Bone Marrow Transplant clinical team to troubleshoot issues and provide guidance on operational challenges.
• Ensure the clinical program provides comprehensive clinical care through multidisciplinary clinics and implements quality improvement initiatives.
• Facilitate annual review of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Hematology/Oncology standards.
• Meet regularly with section staff to review functions and policies and procedures.
• Ensure patients in the Bone Marrow Transplant program are eligible to receive services.
• Participate in recruiting staff to develop the clinical program and engage in staff retention and development opportunities.
• Work with center administrative offices to support planning, site visits, collaborators, and auditors.
• Perform other related duties as required.
• Promote ideas to increase patient accrual for treatment and cancer control trials with the Cancer Research Department.
