Job summary

Wolters Kluwer is seeking a Senior Content Editor for its Medical Education and Medical Practice portfolios in the United States. You will manage content projects from development through delivery, coordinating with Acquisitions, Editorial Operations, and product teams to ensure high-quality print and digital assets.

You will oversee editing, budgeting, and timelines, while leveraging strong project management, editing, and SEO skills to optimize content for digital formats and audience needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in academic and/or healthcare publishing.
• Travel: <10% for team meetings and conferences

Responsibilities

• Develop content and assets for print and digital products serving medical education and clinical practice audiences.
• Oversee assigned high-volume products during development to ensure timely, on-spec delivery within budget.
• Collaborate with Acquisitions, Editorial Operations, Content Operations, Product Management, Marketing, and Sales, and with vendors, authors, and SMEs to produce exceptional content.
• Demonstrate development editing capabilities through analysis of author/SME approach, organization, pedagogy, illustrations, writing style, and use of digital resources
• Create and monitor a comprehensive project budget and schedule, and assist in management reports
• Resolve schedule, budget, and vendor/SME performance issues in collaboration with Editorial Operations
• Support enrichment of products with digital assessments, student/instructor resources, case studies, videos, and more for digital delivery
• Enforce editorial standards and guidelines and ensure compliance with legal/ethical content guidelines
• Evaluate content performance metrics and suggest improvements
• Engage in quality assurance initiatives for digital content
