SYSTEM West Virginia University Health System in Cheyenne, WY is seeking an experienced Medical Coder to join its Revenue Cycle team. You will review clinical documentation, assign ICD-10/ CPT codes, and ensure accurate charging and abstraction for inpatient and outpatient encounters.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, AHIMA or AAPC certification, and at least two years of medical coding experience, including physician office coding; travel may be required.

Formación

• Two years of medical coding experience.
• Two years of physician office coding experience.
• Current HIM/Coding Certification through AHIMA or AAPC.

Responsabilidades

• Reviews and accurately interprets medical record documentation and assigns ICD-10, CPT, or modifiers.
• Ensures quality and timely coding, charging and abstraction for assigned specialties.
• Maintains coding knowledge through in-services, seminars, and updates to manuals.
• Ensures data accuracy for clean billing.
• Contacts physicians to obtain information for accurate coding and facilitates billing.
• Performs audits of provider coding and educates providers as needed.
• Provides assistance to Revenue Cycle Operations in claim development to resolve issues.
