Job summary

Universal Health Services Inc. is seeking a Regional Coding Specialist to act as the liaison between coders and the CBO, ensuring requests are processed promptly and accurately across the network.

You will help release accounts in a timely manner and address coding or education concerns, supporting both inpatient and outpatient accounts within Southern Nevada facilities. This role requires attention to confidentiality and compliance with ICD coding standards and payer requirements.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma. Higher education within related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum three years coding experience in acute care setting with inpatient and outpatient accounts for coding, auditing and education.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in Word, Excel, SMS, Cerner, Siemens Document Imaging and 3M Encoder. ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and CPT knowledge.
• License/Certification: CCS required; RHIA or RHIT preferred.
• Other: Must be able to deal appropriately with highly sensitive and confidential material.

Responsibilities

• Liaise between coders and CBO; ensure CBO requests are processed timely.
• Ensure accounts are released timely and address concerns for resolution.
