• Over one year of outpatient physician coding experience with ICD-9-CM and CPT-4.
• Two years in an acute care facility or integrated health system.
• One year of documented successful physician education.
• CPC, CPC-H, CPC-P, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Code diagnoses and procedures for records for reimbursement, research, and statistics.
• Provide daily feedback and education to providers, staff and patients.
• Lead the team and assist onboarding of new staff and education.
• Support documentation improvement and medical necessity research.
