Qualifications

• Minimum of three years leadership or supervisory experience in coding in an acute care setting.
• Experience coding inpatient and outpatient records using ICD and CPT.
• Knowledge of DRG methodology.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, CMS, ICD-10 and CPT standards.
• Strong collaboration with clinical teams and revenue cycle functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead a coding department team to ensure accurate coding for billing.
• Oversee staff workflows and production targets.
• Communicate policy changes to coders and payers.
• Identify denials trends and work with management to reduce them.
• Participate in audits and support compliance initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA, ICD-10, CPT, and CMS standards.
• Provide performance reviews and coaching.
