Job summary

Sentara Health in Charlottesville, VA seeks a Senior Coding Specialist- Acute Care to support daily operations and ensure quality and regulatory compliance. You will assist the Team Coordinator/Manager and serve as a technical resource for colleagues across the coding team.

Requirements include 2 years of coding experience and CCS, CIC, CCA, RHIT, CPC, or COC certification; 1 year HIM experience preferred. Virginia or North Carolina remote work is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 years coding experience required
• 1 year Health Information Management experience preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Assist the Team Coordinator/Manager with daily operations, coordination of work, quality and service, and in meeting regulatory requirements.
• Serve as technical resource for other team members through participation in quality control and improvement activities, staff development activities and daily support to team members.
• Assist Team Coordinator/Manager in facilitating and monitoring the work process(es) of a designated team.
