Sentara Health in Charlottesville, VA, is seeking a Senior Coding Specialist for Acute Care to support daily operations and ensure high-quality coding services. You will coordinate with the Team Coordinator/Manager and act as a technical resource for team members, helping to meet regulatory requirements and quality targets.

The role requires 2 years of coding experience and certification in CCS, CIC, CCA, RHIT, CPC, or COC, with 1 year HIM experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Coding experience
• CCS, CIC, CCA, RHIT, CPC, or COC certification(s) required
• 1 year Health Information Management experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists the Team Coordinator/Manager with daily operations and coordination of work
• Provides technical expertise within assigned area and serves as a resource to team members
• Assists in monitoring work processes and achieving center goals and regulatory requirements

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

CCS, CIC, CCA, RHIT, CPC, or COC certification(s)
