Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Senior Coding Specialist- Acute Care to support daily operations and coordination within the coding team. You will provide technical expertise, participate in quality and improvement activities, and assist the Team Coordinator/Manager in workflow facilitation.

The role requires 2 years of coding experience with CCS, CIC, CCA, RHIT, CPC, or COC certifications and prefers 1 year of Health Information Management experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Coding experience required.
• CCS, CIC, CCA, RHIT, CPC, or COC certification(s) required.
• 1 year Health Information Management experience preferred.
• Virginia or North Carolina Remote preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Team Coordinator/Manager with daily operations and coordination of work.
• Ensures quality and service, and helps achieve department goals.
• Provides technical expertise and supports team development.
• Monitors work processes and supports ongoing quality control.
