Qualifications

• 1 year current acute care/hospital coding experience is required.
• Certified coding credentials (RHIA/RHIT/CCS) are required or equivalently experienced internal transfers.
• Knowledge of UHDDS guidelines and regulatory requirements is essential.

Responsibilities

• Code all diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT/HCPCS per UHDDS guidelines.
• Abstract data elements for accurate data collection, reporting, and billing.
• Query physicians to clarify chart documentation for accurate codes.
• Ensure monthly patient abstracts for data retrieval and billing.
• Maintain knowledge through ongoing education and certification maintenance.
• Perform related duties as assigned by management.
