Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a Hospital inpatient coder to assign and sequence diagnoses and procedures for inpatient encounters. You will utilize encoder software and EMR documentation in line with Official Coding Guidelines and CMS rules.

The role requires 3 years inpatient coding experience or completion of the MHS coder intern program, with RHIT/RHIA/CCS credentials preferred, and strict confidentiality adherence.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years inpatient coding experience in a hospital setting or a graduate of the MHS coder intern program.
• RHIT, RHIA, or CCS certification as per job requirements.
• Must maintain confidentiality and comply with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Assign and sequence diagnosis and procedure codes for inpatient encounters using encoder software.
• Review MS-DRGs and APR-DRGs for accurate code assignment.
• Formulate physician queries for validation of clinical findings.
• Submit daily productivity reports to the manager by deadline.
• Maintain coding quality and productivity standards.
