Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Towson, MD seeks a Coding Specialist to abstract and assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes under general supervision. You will ensure accurate data collection and support final billing through coding audits and data verification.

Required are 3+ years of CPT/ICD-10-CM coding with certification, radiology/IR coding experience, and knowledge of coding guidelines. An Associate degree is preferred and CIRCC not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree preferred.
• At least 3 years of CPT and ICD-10-CM coding experience with certification.
• 3 years of radiology/interventional radiology coding and charging experience preferred.
• Knowledge of wound care coding.
• Familiar with Official Coding Guidelines and Coding Clinic.

Responsibilities

• Collects accurate data and reports clinical and demographic information to ensure data integrity.
• Retrieves and verifies information for accurate coding and final billing.
• Conduct charging audits, review reports, and edit charges as needed.
• Relays information to the Outpatient Coding Supervisor affecting billing procedures.
• Performs daily account productivity with accurate documentation and reporting.
• Maintains data quality standard of 95% accuracy on coding and charging.
