Qualifications

• 4 years of coding experience required.
• 2 years in Surgical/Ancillary Diagnostic discipline or 1 year with specialty coding certification.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 conventions.

Responsibilities

• Review physician services and interpret documentation, CPT and diagnosis coding.
• Code highly complex surgical, observation, inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory procedures.
• Query physicians when documentation is inadequate or unclear for coding.
• Correct failed claim errors to billing edits and coding denials.
• Notify appropriate personnel of non-compliance with Medical Necessity or non-payable services.
• Compile necessary documentation before coding review and obtain missing records as needed.
