Job summary

NYU Langone Florida is seeking a Billing Representative III to join our team in Florida. This role handles advanced billing tasks, complex denial resolution, authorizations, precertifications, and patient cost estimates.

You will support staff with escalated issues and contribute to training and process improvements. You will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring compliant, accurate billing and timely communication with providers and patients.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3 years in a similar billing role.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
• Experience with medical billing software.
• Light, accurate keyboarding; 35 wpm preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform billing tasks including data entry, claim review, charge review, and AR follow-up.
• Provide input to improve billing processes and maximize revenues.
• Handle daily work queues and assist escalated issues.
• Identify payer/coding issues and escalate to management.
• Support training and process improvements within the team.
• Appeal complex denials with policies, coding, and records as needed.
• Cross-cover other office billing areas as assigned.
