Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a Medical Assistant III for the Procedure Suite in Seattle. This 1.0 FTE, 40‑hour/week role supports physicians and nursing staff, guiding workflow and patient care in a busy clinical setting.

The position requires MA completion (ABHES/CAAHEP), WA CMA certification, WA Surgical Technologist registration within 30 days, and BLS. EMR experience, strong communication, and process-improvement skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of a medical assistant program accredited by ABHES or CAAHEP.
• 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Certified Medical Assistant in Washington state.
• Current Surgical Technologist Registration in Washington within 30 days of hire.
• Current BLS Health Provider Card and renewal every two years.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Lead process improvement initiatives.
• Proficient in computer skills and familiarity with medical terminology.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as a primary preceptor/trainer.
• Collaborate with leadership to train new hires and other initiatives.
