Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a Medical Assistant I to join the Northwest Clinic in North Seattle. This full-time role supports providers, rooms patients, documents vital signs, and participates in patient care and administrative tasks to ensure smooth clinic flow.

Qualified candidates will have a CAHE/ABHES/CAAHEP-accredited MA program, WA CMA certification, BLS, and strong interpersonal skills. The position offers comprehensive benefits and a daytime schedule, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Completion of a medical assistant program accredited by ABHES/CAAHEP
• Military training or experience may satisfy training/experience
• Certified Medical Assistant in WA and familiar with WA conduct/standards
• Interim CMA in WA and familiar with WA conduct/standards
• Surgical Technologist Registration in WA with 30-day application window
• Current BLS card renewed every two years
• Proficient in email and word processing systems
• Strong interpersonal and customer services skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced healthcare environment
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and problem solve, communicate clearly
• Ability to follow directions and seek help
• Ability to identify learning needs and plan learning opportunities

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients and families to exam/procedure area
• Documents vital signs and patient information per policy
• Assists with procedures as directed
• Maintains clinic flow via clerical tasks and patient transport
• Recognizes symptoms and escalates to RN/provider as needed
• Performs Blood Draws as directed
• Performs injections as directed
• Acts as liaison between patients/families and health care providers
