Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II in Methuen, MA. The MA II will greet patients, collect information, assist providers with exams, perform basic procedures and support EMR documentation in a busy outpatient setting.

You will train and mentor MA staff and externs, ensure OSHA compliance, and help maintain smooth practice operations while delivering high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certificate 1 Medical Assistant Certificate required.
• 1-3 years related work experience required.
• Experience with computer systems including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access).

Responsibilities

• Provides role-model guidance, training and knowledge sharing to Medical Assistants, MA students, externs and Practice Assistants.
• Identifies and resolves OSHA compliance issues and maintains point-of-care testing; participates in quality improvement initiatives.
• Greets patients, collects complete and accurate information, and communicates with providers; assists with patient flow and information management.
• Assists with clinical procedures: obtaining vitals, EKGs, injections, phlebotomy, specimen collection and QC standards.
• Manages medical records for accuracy, adds medications to EMR and handles patient information requests per policy.
