Job summary

SACRAMENTO NATIVE AMERICAN HEALTH CENTER INC. seeks a Medical Assistant Preceptor/Trainer to lead onboarding, training, and competency verification for Medical Assistants.

You will ensure MA staff meet AAAHC standards, HIPAA, OSHA, and infection-control regulations while operating at top of scope to improve patient-centered care. You will collaborate with clinic leadership, QI teams, and compliance staff to implement best practices, training materials, and workflow improvements.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• At least three years as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient or community health setting.
• At least 2 years in a leadership, training, or supervisory role focused on MA competency development.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Train all Medical Assistants (MAs) and assigned staff.
• Serve as an EHR specialist for training support staff.
• Develop and maintain a standardized MA onboarding program.
• Ensure AAAHC accreditation compliance via competency assessments and audits.
• Monitor MA vaccine administration, EHR workflows, and patient safety.
• Act as subject matter expert on MA workflows, compliance, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with clinic leadership to enhance operations and staff performance.
• Provide coaching and guidance to MAs.
• Train staff in customer service expectations and de-escalation skills.
• Conduct skills verification and ongoing competency assessments.
• Ensure staff documentation and training records meet regulatory requirements.
• Support AAAHC readiness and regulatory audits.
