Job summary

The University of Maryland Medical System Corporation is seeking a Medical Assistant III to support patient care under direct clinical supervision. You will perform delegated medical and clerical tasks, document in the EMR, and assist with medication handling while helping manage daily operations and patient flow in a busy clinic.

You will greet patients professionally, gather clinical information, perform vital signs, assist with procedures, and participate in patient outreach and population

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completed accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current national certification from AAMA, NHA, AAH, or AMT.
• BLS certification and at least 3 years of medical assisting experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients professionally and gather/document clinical information.
• Perform vital signs and routine testing and assist with procedures.
• Administer select medications and participate in patient outreach.
• Handle prior authorizations and support benefit checks and financial counseling.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and engage in process improvement and teamwork.
