Job summary

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare is seeking a Medical Assistant to support care in a clinic setting under a provider’s direction. The role emphasizes patient care, data collection, and patient education while maintaining a clean, safe environment.

Responsibilities include appointment scheduling, basic clinical tasks, vital signs, specimen collection, EKGs, and assisting with procedures. The position requires a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 3–5 years of MA experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred technical Medical Assistant degree/diploma.
• 3–5 years of Medical Assistant or similar experience.

Responsibilities

• Proactively assists patients throughout the visit and accompanies them to exam rooms.
• Performs clerical tasks such as scheduling appointments, Diagnostic Imaging exams, lab calls, prior authorizations, and charting.
• Collects and records patient data including vital signs and basic information.
• May assist with preparation for physical examinations.
• Performs EKGs, removes sutures, and changes dressings as directed.
• Collects specimens for lab analysis and prepares patients for procedures.
• Administers medications and immunizations under physician supervision.
• May authorize prescription refills and relay information to pharmacies.
• Maintains infection control and cleans exam rooms between visits.
• Restocks supplies and assists with general patient education.
