Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island in Bethpage seeks a Sr. Medical Assistant to assist physicians and nurses, perform MA duties at a senior level, and manage both clinical and administrative tasks.

You will validate patient identifiers, prepare rooms, collect vitals and blood samples, and enter data in the EMR while ensuring patient privacy and high-quality care. A strong emphasis on teamwork and patient experience is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program is required.
• Current Medical Assistant Certification from a national body (AAMA/AMT/NCCT/NHA) is required.
• Minimum of 3 years Medical Assistant experience in a faculty group practice or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary trainer for new hires.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examinations.
• Measure and record vital signs and collect blood samples.
• Perform and document administrative tasks such as scheduling and data entry.
• Maintain patient privacy and HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with prescription refills and coordination of care.
• Support EMR data entry and chart review.
• Ensure exam rooms are stocked and clean.
