Job summary

AltaMed Health Services Corp. is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) III to welcome patients and provide compassionate, efficient clinical support. The MA III will perform routine patient care, assist with EHR responsibilities, and support back-office processes while mentoring the MA team.

Location-based language preferences may apply to the role. Responsibilities include direct patient care, translating to strong patient relations, and contributing to clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certificate and high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a back-office Medical Assistant.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese strongly preferred, depending on location.
• A valid BLS certification or higher required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and atend to patients, creating a positive patient experience.
• Assist in direct patient care and provide administrative support in the clinic.
• Serve as an Electronic Health Record (EHR) super-user and advise on back-office processes.
• Mentor and train MA team and support clinic management.
• If at the Patient Service Center, perform duties over the telephone.
• If with Registry teams, manage diagnostic test results for Registry patients.
