Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, seeks a Medical Assistant II to provide expanded clinical support across one or more clinicians in eastern Massachusetts. You will help manage patient flow, scheduling, and documentation while upholding procedures and guidelines.

Responsibilities include coordinating care when clinicians are unavailable, triaging inquiries, and supporting care-improvement activities. A strong team approach and commitment to patient satisfaction are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of clinical experience, with at least one year as Medical Assistant
• High School or GED required; a bachelor’s or associate degree may substitute for one year of experience

Responsibilities

• Maintains a higher degree of technical expertise and serves as a resource to other Medical Assistants
• Manages patient flow, access and scheduling for clinicians to optimize appointment availability
• Manages clinicians' daily schedule to expedite care and maximize clinical time
• Coordinates the practice when clinicians are unavailable and ensures proper communication
• Sorts and reviews clinician mail and screens MyHealth messages
• Monitors practice issues and advocates for patients to resolve concerns
