Job summary

Maryland Department of Health (MDH) - Office of Eligibility Services in Baltimore, MD is seeking to supervise the Eligibility Policy Unit for Non-MAGI Medicaid policy. The role includes handling inquiries, coordinating advanced casework such as PEMEs, waivers, and liaising with MDH OIG and Office of the Attorney General for appeals and high-level complaints.

Candidates should have substantial experience in medical assistance policy and may substitute degrees for required experience as outlined

Qualifications

• Eight years of admin/professional experience in medical assistance or health entitlement programs.
• One year of this experience must be in a medical assistance program.
• Bachelor’s degree plus four years of related experience may substitute for the required experience.
• Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for the required experience.
• U.S. Armed Forces commissioned officer experience in related fields may substitute for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Eligibility Policy Unit for Non-MAGI Medicaid policy.
• Respond to customer inquiries for Non-MAGI and MAGI cases.
• Manage and track advanced casework activities (Pre and Post-Medical Expenses, PEMEs).
• Handle waivers for special Medicaid circumstances and overdue Human Services cases.
• Liaise with MDH OIG on fraud/overpayment cases and with the AG’s office for appeals and high level complaints.
