Qualifications

  • Masters or doctoral degree plus 15 years of experience, or equivalent, in public policy, economics, behavioral or social sciences, public health, or related disciplines with substantial Medicaid/CHIP focus.
  • Medicaid or CHIP program experience at state or federal levels.
  • Strong foundation in quantitative and/or qualitative methods; broad health policy understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Direct multidisciplinary teams to conduct research, TA, implementation and monitoring on Medicaid/CHIP policy and data systems; oversee high-quality delivery.
  • Provide consulting to state/local clients; assist with policy development and CMS submissions; support negotiations of new policies.
  • Apply rigorous analytic thinking to quantitative/qualitative data; analyze Medicaid/CHIP data; conduct site visits or interviews.
  • Direct business development efforts and lead proposals for new projects.
  • Author project reports, memos, TA tools, issue briefs, webinars; represent Mathematica to policy and professional audiences.
  • Mentor staff and contribute to growth and institutional knowledge in Medicaid/CHIP.
