Job summary

Mathematica is seeking a Senior Fellow - Medicaid (Remote Eligible) to lead research and policy work on Medicaid and CHIP at national levels. You will guide policy development, oversee projects, and represent Mathematica to clients and external audiences.

The role emphasizes mentorship, quality assurance, and cross-team collaboration, with opportunities to shape analytic methods and drive improvements in health care programs for beneficiaries.

Qualifications

  • Master's or doctoral degree plus 15 years of experience in public policy or health policy.
  • Expertise in Medicaid/CHIP at state or federal level.
  • Strong foundations in quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • Excellent written and oral communication for diverse policymakers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Direct multidisciplinary teams to conduct research and monitor projects on state and federal Medicaid and CHIP policy and data systems, overseeing all aspects of high-quality project delivery.
  • Provide consulting services to state and local clients, support development of new health policies, assist with submissions to CMS, and support negotiations of new policies.
  • Apply rigorous analysis to quantitative and qualitative data, including Medicaid/CHIP administrative data and field work with officials.
  • Direct business development efforts and lead proposals for new projects.
  • Author project reports, memos, technical tools, issue briefs, and presentations; represent Mathematica to policy and professional audiences.
  • Mentor staff and contribute to institutional knowledge in the Medicaid and CHIP area.
