Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks an experienced Electromechanical Technician III/IV to join the Mechatronics Research Laboratory within the Vehicle Systems Division. You will support control hardware, sensors, actuators, and test programs for spacecraft and launch vehicles.

On-site in El Segundo, CA, this role offers hands-on test and calibration work, safety leadership, and collaboration with engineers. A vocational background and machine shop expertise are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Completed relevant vocational trade school or apprenticeship.
• 6+ years of machine shop experience (Electromechanical Technician III).
• Mastery of instrument control, data collection techniques, data management, experiment design, setup and documentation.
• Ability to plan and execute tasks using machine controller and CAD/CAM software.
• Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance (US citizenship required).
• Experience with testing hardware and sensors in aerospace environments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering staff to implement research and test programs in the MRL.
• Conduct tests and measurements; resolve test issues; evaluate data and provide input and recommendations.
• Maintain laboratory readiness, including equipment function, calibration, and safety compliance.
• Ensure lab safety rules are followed and rectify hazards; notify management.
