Job summary

Rocket Lab in Pasadena, CA seeks an Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our advanced manufacturing team. You will perform precision mechanical and electrical assembly for flight hardware, including PCB assemblies and harnesses, supporting testing and integration as we build rockets and spacecraft.

The role offers multiple levels (I–Senior) with increasing responsibility and requires experience in prototype builds, schematics interpretation, and soldering methods.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with relevant electro-mechanical assembly experience.
  • Experience fabricating harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Prototype development and first article builds experience.
  • Electronic testing and inspection using portable measuring devices.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow schematics, engineering drawings, circuit layouts, and parts lists.
  • Proficiency in both through-hole and SMT soldering/desoldering techniques.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

  • Work on high-caliber cross-functional team.
  • Mechanical and electrical assembly of PCB assemblies for flight hardware.
  • Fabricate wire harnesses and sub-assemblies.
  • Conduct soldering/desoldering on through-hole and SMT components.
  • Support conformal coating, masking, epoxy application and coating operations.
  • Assist with functional testing on flight and non-flight hardware.
  • Develop production processes for first-time production runs.
  • Maintain shop cleanliness and organization.
