Job summary

Ford seeks a Core Architect to serve as senior technical lead for mechatronic feature definition from concept through validation and sign-off. You will own the front end of the feature lifecycle, drive stakeholder elicitation, system architecture, and requirements development, and coordinate cross-functional teams for safety and verification activities.

You will lead cross-functional sign-off, guide DFMEA and cybersecurity considerations, and oversee prototype strategy and test planning,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of proven experience in systems engineering, systems architecture, or mechatronic systems engineering within automotive or related industry.
• Experience with INCOSE/EARS, requirements traceability, and lifecycle activities.
• Strong expertise in functional safety analysis and DFMEA.
• Hands-on proficiency with SysML and CATIA V6 for system/architecture modeling.
• Working familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink for modeling work.
• Experience with requirements management and cross-functional sign-off processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead front-end feature lifecycle activities including stakeholder elicitation, system architecture, interfaces, and traceability.
• Perform functional safety analysis and DFMEA, defining prevention controls for high-severity failures.
• Validate requirements with MoE/MoP thresholds and drive handoff to Mechatronics teams.
• Lead cross-validation sign-off and act as Core SE lead in design reviews and DFMEA workshops.
• Oversee physical prototype strategy and guide test plan development and execution.
• Direct modeling and testing resources, coordinating with Modeling and Testing Engineers.
