Job summary

Ford Motor Company seeks an Applications Engineer to join a newly formed Mechatronics Subsystem integration team. You will bridge Electronics, Mechanical Hardware, Features, Controls & Software to ensure flawless physical-to-electrical execution across vehicle programs.

You will own subsystems such as Closures, Windows, Seats, Climate or Access, and align software algorithms with hardware realities. You will apply Core templates, manage cross‑domain issues, and support on‑time program milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years' experience delivering products, systems, or features from conception to launch
• 3+ years' demonstrable cross-functional teamwork across engineering domains
• 3 years' experience in a cross-functional team environment

Responsibilities

• Lead Subsystem-Level Execution applying Mechatronics Core templates
• Ingest feature/system requests and decompose into mechanical/electrical/software requirements
• Develop program-specific Subsystem Boundary Diagrams, ICDs, and subsystem electrical diagrams
• Lead vehicle build issue triage and containment planning
• Coordinate Agile software sprints with Waterfall hardware timelines to ensure readiness
• Maintain subsystem timelines, risk mitigation, and integration readiness for milestones
• Drive cross-skill delivery with design guardrails and traceability from feature to components
• Address cross-domain development challenges and resolve 14D/CCR/G PACs
• Develop plans for Subsystem-level verification and sign-off across programs
• Ensure end-to-end subsystem integration readiness including performance and launch timing
