Formlabs in Somerville, MA, is seeking a seasoned hardware engineer with 5+ years in mechatronics to drive research, development and implementation of next-generation products. You will prototype, test, and collaborate with design teams to transition concepts into manufacturable solutions.

You will work across mechanical, electrical, and software domains, applying systems thinking and data-driven decisions to optimize performance and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on mechatronics product design.
• Experience with cross-disciplinary hardware prototyping (mechanical, electrical, software).
• Experience with sensors/actuators and data-driven decision making.
• Knowledge of plastics/metals/adhesives; testing and analysis focus.

Responsibilities

• Research, development and implementation of new products.
• Prototype, test and validate ideas, convert to functional designs.
• Collaborate with design engineers to move designs into manufacturing.
