Job summary

Formlabs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Boston to design and build prototypes and production electronics, including circuit design, PCB layout, and embedded firmware. You will bring up and validate systems, design sensing and motion subsystems, and grow into owning system-level architecture while mentoring peers.

The role emphasizes hands-on hardware, data-backed decisions, and collaboration across firmware, software, and mechanical teams in a fast-paced 3D printing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years designing production-ready electronics.
• Portfolio demonstrating relevant hardware and firmware work.
• Able to back design choices with data and testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and build prototypes and production electronic systems (circuit design, PCB layout, firmware).
• Develop sensing and motion systems when off-the-shelf options fail.
• Own system-level architecture over time and mentor other engineers.
