Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced Mechanical/Mechatronics Hardware Test Engineer to support the Lunar Permanence program. You will plan and execute tests on mechanical components, electromechanical assemblies, and multi-axis systems, emphasizing safety, data integrity, and reliable test results.

Qualifications include a bachelor's in mechanical/electrical/mechatronics engineering and at least five years of hands-on hardware testing, with CAD skills and data acquisition proficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics required.
  • Minimum 5 years hands-on hardware testing experience with mechanical/electromechanical systems.
  • Proven ability to develop test stands and fixtures and review test artifacts.
  • CAD-based mechanical design experience and test plan execution capability.
  • Knowledge of data acquisition, instrumentation, and motion control components.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute mechanical component and subsystem test campaigns, including qualification and environmental testing.
  • Identify test events, required equipment, and test facility needs.
  • Develop and review test plans, procedures, and safety assessments.
  • Design, procure, and install test support hardware; manage vendors during installation.
  • Analyze test data, identify anomalies, and drive resolution through structured problem solving.
  • Coordinate test readiness reviews and post-test evaluations.
  • Mentor and train junior staff; enforce safety policies during testing.
