Job summary

Textron Systems seeks a Senior Mechanical Technician to maintain, operate, and troubleshoot unmanned surface systems and support craft. You will assist engineers with prototypes, support offsite testing, and develop manuals.

Travel up to 50% and on-water operations are involved, with emphasis on safety and documentation. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in mechanical/electro‑mechanical assemblies, ability to read drawings, and experience with maritime systems and diesel engines.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred.
• Five+ years of technician experience with mechanical/electro‑mechanical assemblies.
• Ability to read drawings and Schematics.
• Willing to travel up to 50%.
• Boating/shipboard experience strongly preferred.
• Experience assembling maritime systems; diesel engines preferred.
• Knowledge of test instrumentation and laboratory practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work extended hours.
• On-water operations experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot unmanned surface systems and support craft.
• Assist engineers with prototype development and testing.
• Support offsite qualification testing per procedures.
• Develop operational and technical manuals.
• Interface with customers and service members during demonstrations.
• Perform lab maintenance, safety audits, and material tracking.
• Promote safety in lab and field testing.
