Job summary

Florida Department of Management Services in Tampa seeks a Senior Maintenance Mechanic with strong HVAC and mechanical repair skills. You will inspect and repair boilers, chillers, AHUs, pumps and related systems, ensuring safe, efficient operation and occupant comfort.

You will analyze issues, plan repairs, and document activities for maintenance records. The role requires at least three years in HVAC and related trades, EPA 608 and boiler certifications, a valid driver’s license, and

Qualifications

Three years recent commercial HVAC experience.
Two years’ experience in maintenance and repair of buildings, plumbing or electrical or mechanical equipment.
Valid and applicable driver’s license.
HVAC certification.
EPA 608 Universal Certification.
Boiler Certification.
Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work in heights; safety conscious.
On-call availability, including after hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

Inspect, operate and repair mechanical equipment such as pumps, boilers, chillers and AHUs.
Analyze trouble, plan repair sequences and document work performed.
Operate boilers per SOPs and manufacturer requirements.
Coordinate with Operations Control on building controls and BAS.
Perform preventive maintenance and report time and materials.
Calibrate temperature devices and monitor gauge readings.
Travel to state facilities as required and participate in after-hours emergencies.
