Job summary

Mantis Innovation is seeking a Senior Project Manager, Mechanical Systems, to lead end-to-end delivery of mechanical, utility, and energy projects for commercial, industrial, and public-sector clients. The role requires turning complex needs into well-scoped, financially sound projects and leading engineering, contractors, and field teams.

The position is senior and client-facing, with accountability for portfolio performance, client engagement, project margins, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in the design, construction, or delivery of mechanical projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, boilers, chillers, piping, and central plant equipment.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and change orders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for clients and leadership.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead site surveys and collect data to establish project baselines.
• Analyze facility infrastructure for energy and reliability improvements.
• Direct feasibility studies and technical evaluations for HVAC and energy projects.
• Prepare cost estimates, lifecycle cost analyses, and ROI calculations.
• Present recommendations and business cases to clients and leadership.
• Coordinate incentives, rebates, and funding sources into project economics.
• Lead design engineering to ensure quality and compliance.
• Manage field execution, schedules, safety, and contractor coordination.
• Own project budgets, forecasts, and margin reporting.
• Mentor engineers and coordinators to grow independent project responsibility.
• Develop business opportunities and support proposals.
