Job summary

Mantis Innovation seeks a Senior Project Manager, Mechanical Systems, to lead delivery of mechanical, utility, and energy infrastructure projects from site visit through closeout. You will guide engineering teams, contractors, and field staff to ensure safe, on-time, within-budget outcomes for commercial, industrial, and public-sector clients.

This senior, client-facing role drives project margins, mitigates risk, and mentors engineers, with travel to diverse client sites in the greater region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 8+ years in design, construction, or delivery of mechanical/energy projects; 5+ years on projects end-to-end.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, boilers, chillers, piping, and central plant equipment.
• Experience budgeting, scheduling, change orders, and contractor management on industrial projects.
• Experience developing cost estimates, savings calculations, and lifecycle cost analyses.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and scopes of work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with client-facing presentation skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead site surveys and collect data to establish baselines and client needs.
• Analyze facility infrastructure to identify energy and operational improvements.
• Direct feasibility studies for HVAC, central plant, and energy efficiency projects.
• Develop project scopes, savings calculations, and investment-grade cost estimates.
• Prepare technical recommendations and business cases for proposals.
• Identify and integrate utility incentives and rebates into project economics.
• Lead design engineering and coordinate internal/external resources.
• Manage mechanical construction, scheduling, and contractor coordination.
• Enforce safety and resolve on-site issues with proactive actions.
• Coordinate startup, commissioning, turnover, and closeout activities.
• Own project budgets, track costs, and report variances.
• Mentor project engineers and contribute to delivery standards.
