Job summary

Mantis Innovation in San Francisco, CA seeks a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to identify, design, and implement utility and infrastructure improvements for industrial and commercial facilities. You will lead site surveys, feasibility analyses, project scoping, and engineering design to support informed investment decisions.

A Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5–10 years of experience in energy and utilities projects are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is required.
5–10 years of experience in utility modernization, energy efficiency, or related infra projects.
Experience supporting industrial and/or commercial projects.
Strong ability to independently manage engineering work and coordinate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Conduct site surveys and collect data to establish baselines for projects.
Analyze facility infrastructure to identify energy, water, and operation improvements.
Perform feasibility studies and technical evaluations for modernization plans.
Develop project scopes, savings calculations, and investment-grade cost estimates.
Prepare technical recommendations and supporting documentation for proposals.
Lead design engineering activities ensuring quality and alignment with objectives.
Coordinate internal and external resources to deliver on schedule.
Support project implementation including design-build coordination and incentives.
