Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in Philadelphia, PA, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineering Lead to shape and deliver complex building systems projects.

You will serve as the technical authority, guiding HVAC, central utilities and related systems from concept through construction, while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. This role focuses on Higher Education, Life Sciences, Corporate Commercial, and Advanced Facilities sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration; PA preferred or comity.
• 15+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experience.
• Lead/Discipline Lead on large, complex projects.
• Experience designing HVAC and mechanical systems for higher education, life sciences, corporate, and complex facilities.
• Knowledge of codes and standards including ASHRAE, ASME, NFPA, IBC, and energy codes.
• Ability to lead engineering teams and guide decision-making across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineer and technical authority for complex building design/renovation projects.
• Set project design approach, engineering strategies, and technical standards.
• Lead development of HVAC, central utilities, mechanical systems from concept to construction.
• Oversee calculations, analyses, system selection, and design decisions.
• Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams (engineers, designers, architects).
• Conduct design reviews and QA to ensure code compliance and client requirements.
