Job summary

Stratolaunch seeks a Mechanical Systems expert to join our Technical Staff in Engineering. You will lead mechanical design reviews, mentor engineers, and drive technical standards to solve complex aerospace problems. The role demands leadership across disciplines and strong communication with customers and stakeholders.

You will engage in IRAD initiatives, develop roadmaps, and support business proposals and hiring. Mojave-based with potential hybrid work options; U.S.

Qualifications

• Deep technical leadership capability and aerospace expertise.
• Experience applying technical expertise to high-impact problems.
• Familiarity with standards/regulatory specifications.
• US Citizenship with ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide company-level technical discipline leadership in review and mentorship.
• Lead mechanical design reviews across projects and stages.
• Mentor junior engineers within the mechanical design group.
• Develop standards, best practices, and common tools.
• Lead teams through high-impact problem solving (RCCA, Tiger Teams).
• Develop capability roadmaps and realize implemented capabilities.
• Propose and lead IRAD projects to generate IP and business value.
• Support white papers, proposals, and front-end business efforts.
• Support recruiting and hiring activities
