Job summary

Virgin Galactic is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Systems Engineer to lead hardware integration for aerospace and space applications.

You will design and prototype parts using 3DExperience and CATIA V5, collaborating with technicians and multiple teams to meet demanding requirements for both new development and in-service programs. You must have a BS in Engineering and 8+ years in mechanical design, preferably in aerospace, with experience in electrical schematics interfacing with mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• B.S. Engineering Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8+ years of relevant mechanical design experience, preferably in aerospace.
• Experience with 3D modeling and drafting in CATIA V5, 3DExperience, or similar tools.
• Experience with materials selection and understanding electrical schematics interfacing with mechanical systems.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work across multiple teams with safety-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering drawings for parts, assemblies and installations in 3DExperience and CATIA V5.
• Create process specifications and engineering standards.
• Support flight operations documentation.
• Aid Production/Maintenance with repair/rework dispositions.
• Maintain actions and burn-down lists to support development teams.
