Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a Senior Category Manager, Mechanical to own end-to-end spend on enclosures, fabrication, doors and sheet metal. You will lead market intelligence, supplier qualification, and negotiations, and build a 12–24 month category roadmap aligned with manufacturing capabilities and risk management.

The role emphasizes strategic sourcing, contract drafting, and cross-functional collaboration with operations to protect build timelines and AVL integrity.

Qualifications

• 4–7+ years of strategic sourcing or category management focused on fabricated metal/mechanical components.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Technical familiarity with metal fabrication methods, tolerancing, and shop-floor assessment.
• Contracting and negotiation experience with MSAs and SLAs.
• Proficiency with supplier qualification frameworks, RFIs/RFQs, scorecards, and category segmentation.

Responsibilities

• Market & Spend Intelligence: track supply base capabilities, pricing, lead times, and capacity.
• AVL Qualification & Shop-Floor Vetting: verify fabrication capabilities against claims.
• Category Strategy & Segmentation: develop a 12–24 month roadmap across strategic vs. leverage items.
• Commercial Negotiations & Contracting: structure MSAs, SLAs, and terms; redline clauses.
• Proactive Capacity & Risk Management: monitor capacity risks and maintain risk mitigations.
• Make/Buy Analysis: evaluate internal fabrication as a cost-effective option.
• Performance Tracking & Operations Handoff: quarterly supplier scorecards and smooth PO handoffs.
