Job summary

Komatsu seeks a Mechanical Simulation Engineer to provide global expertise in computer simulation of structural and mechanical assemblies for underground mining machinery. The role requires deep experience with finite element analysis tools and collaboration across international teams.

You will redesign products to enhance performance, conduct evaluations, and develop strategic solutions while traveling domestically and internationally as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or MET minimum.
• MSME with emphasis in design preferred.
• 10 years of mechanical design experience with 3–5 years using Ansys FEA software.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist product groups in designing and developing new products.
• Redesign existing products to improve performance and life of mechanical components.
• Perform engineering evaluations with defined requirements and outcomes.
• Provide conceptual and strategic solutions for engineering projects.
• Collaborate with other engineers on structural design.
• Design and evaluate shafts for stiffness, torque, and fatigue strength.
• Conduct root-cause analysis of mechanical failures and develop solutions.
