Job summary

AutoStore, a global technology company, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Atlanta to integrate simulation into hardware design. You will lead structural, dynamic and fatigue analyses using FEA and contribute to CAD-driven development from prototype to production.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams across the New Product Development Innovation Team, and help drive manufacturability, reliability and test planning across 1,600+ systems worldwide.

Qualifications

• 5+ years applying mechanical simulation in product development, ideally electromechanical/robotic products.
• Hands-on with FEA tools: static, modal, dynamic, nonlinear analysis.
• Experience with explicit dynamics or multibody tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run structural, dynamic, fatigue and multibody simulations of AutoStore hardware.
• Turn design questions into analysis and present clear recommendations.
• Contribute to CAD: create/modify parts, drawings, assemblies.
• Support rapid prototyping, pilot builds and production hardware with manufacturability considerations.
• Mentor a new-graduate mechanical engineer on the team.
• Validate models against lab and field test data and state uncertainties.
• Support test planning to calibrate simulation results.
• Run design studies, parameter sweeps and optimization.
• Script and automate simulation workflows with Engineering Tools and Services team.
• Document methods and share best practices across R&D.
