Job summary

Form Energy is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead the newly formed Mechanical Simulation & Analysis team in Berkeley, CA, and support production lines in WV. The role involves growing a world-class team of mechanical architects, thermal and structural engineers, and collaborating with battery, EE, and system modeling teams to optimize for performance and cost.

You will drive the mechanical architecture, validation, and model-based decisions across the full development cycle,

Qualifications

• 12+ years of mechanical engineering experience in hardware product development.
• Proven leadership, mentoring, and people-management experience.
• Expert knowledge of CFD/FEA thermal analysis and static/dynamic structural analysis.
• Strong mechanical design experience across multiple shipping products.
• Hands-on model validation/correlation experience.
• Experience defining products and engineering requirements and implementing FMEA.
• Experience in batteries, energy storage, or high-power products is a plus.
• Strong technical communication skills with external parties and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a world-class team of mechanical architects, thermal engineers, and structural engineers.
• Lead mechanical architecture, and structural/fluid/thermal analysis and optimization of Form Energy's iron-air battery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, model, and optimize system designs for performance, cost, and reliability throughout the full development cycle.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
