Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking a highly motivated structural dynamics analyst to join the Analytical Structural Dynamics Department in Albuquerque. You will engage in engineering analysis, model development, validation, and performance evaluation across a broad range of Sandia products.

You will collaborate with in-house code development teams and external customers, tackling challenging problems with world-class HPC resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; five+ years of directly relevant experience or equivalent
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance
• Graduate degree and independent research project experience are desirable
• Experience with mechanical engineering and product realization in the NNSA complex
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present briefings clearly and compellingly
• Experience calibrating models to experimental data and debugging model issues
• Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) systems and CAD tools
• Experience integrating AI tools into engineering workflows

Responsibilities

• Support shock and vibration research and analyses for weapons systems and aerospace structures
• Team with project and test engineers at Sandia and with external customers
• Lead a diverse team to support research and program needs
• Share results through internal reports, journals, conferences and design reviews
