Job summary

HNTB Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with HVAC, plumbing or fire protection design experience for commercial, institutional and infrastructure facilities. You will lead design efforts, coordinate development, and deliver projects from concept through construction with minimal direction.

The role requires a PE license, 8–10 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD and BlueBeam.

Qualifications

• 10 years of relevant experience
• Professional Engineering license (PE) in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, BlueBeam.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design efforts on a variety of projects from concept to final construction close-out
• Coordinate design development and provide technical direction to project team members
• Completes mechanical designs with minimal direction
• Writes technical reports and creates presentations of findings (samples may be requested)
• Strong communication of results in presentations and meetings
• Uses senior-level technical expertise to consider broad range of engineering solutions
• Responsible for the discipline-specific planning, work distribution, and leadership and adherence to the schedule, and budget on complex or unusual engineering projects
• Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation
• Develops scope of work and level of effort and manages adherence to scope and budget on complex or unusual engineering projects within discipline
• Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work within the technical discipline
• Provides technical guidance and mentoring to team members to achieve overall project objectives on complex or unusual engineering projects
• Coordinates technical aspects of the project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline on complex or unusual engineering projects
• Leads discipline delivery on larger, multi-disciplinary projects. Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
• Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work for other disciplines on multi-discipline projects on complex or unusual engineering projects
• Recruits, hires, develops and retains staff, including development of plan for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession. Coordinates schedules and approves timecards
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering + 8 years of relevant experience

Master's degree in Engineering + 7 years of relevant experience

PhD in Engineering + 6 years of relevant experience
