Job summary

Cuhaci Peterson Architects, Engineers & Planners, Inc. seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer (PE) to lead engineering calculations and system design per established policies and codes.

Independent decision-making, mentorship of junior staff, and cross-disciplinary coordination are essential. You will design and layout mechanical systems, estimate man-hours, and prepare construction documents for diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and PE license; 8+ years of experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
• Ability to supervise and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations and layout/design in accordance with policies, standards and codes with minimal supervision.
• Apply practical knowledge to resolve project problems and conflicts.
• Make independent engineering decisions and may supervise subordinate personnel.
• Supervise designers and assign design functions to complete projects on time and within budget.
• Review preliminary and final designs with other disciplines for coordination and proper function.
• Prepare complete construction documents matching client and project team requirements.
• Meet with Project Engineer and Project Manager to discuss scope, schedule, and budget.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to Engineering Designers I-III; ensure quality and deadlines.
• Client contact and QA coordination with technical manager or project engineer.
