Job summary

CAMS is seeking a Senior Project Engineer - Mechanical (Owner's Rep) to serve as the site’s mechanical technical authority for high-risk, brownfield capital projects, including Environmental Legacy Generation (ELG) compliance and other major plant upgrades. This role operates with autonomy, providing day-to-day technical leadership from engineering through construction, commissioning, and turnover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering and project execution.
• Experience leading mechanical scope with EPC/constructors and vendors.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• PE license or active progression toward licensure (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Review EPC mechanical deliverables for compliance with project scope, specifications, drawings, and governing codes/standards.
• Provide technical oversight for piping systems, pumps, rotating equipment, tanks/vessels, heat exchangers, valves, and balance-of-plant mechanical systems.
• Lead mechanical technical governance for field changes (FCNs), nonconformances, and deviations.
• Partner with Operations and Safety to support tie-in/outage planning and safe return-to-service.
• Own mechanical completion and turnover quality, and ensure proper documentation and punchlist closure.
