Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a senior level Mechanical Engineer to join our Buildings Engineering Services team in Lansing, MI. This role focuses on mechanical design for municipal, commercial, higher education, and public works projects, from concept through construction, with emphasis on performance and energy efficiency.

The ideal candidate holds a PE license, 8–10+ years of experience, and strong skills in Revit and CAD.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
• Experience with internal piping processes and/or working on commercial and/or industrial structures is a plus.
• Advanced techniques and QA/QC on drawings.
• Proficiency in Revit and CAD.

Responsibilities

• Applies diversified engineering principles to mechanical design with scope and complexity.
• Perform complex assignments requiring development of new/improved techniques.
• Interpret, update, and/or create Standards of Practice.
• Perform the duties of a Project Engineer.
• May act as quality coordinator for discipline led projects.
• Suggest ideas, stay informed of developments, and view obstacles as opportunities.
